Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Yields: 2 servings
Preheat your oven to 400°F or heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Ingredients
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish
Equipment
- Small bowl
- Whisk
- Skillet or baking sheet
Tips for success:
- For a thicker glaze, simmer the glaze in a saucepan over low heat for a few minutes until it reduces slightly.
- If using frozen salmon, make sure it is fully thawed before cooking.
- To prevent the salmon from sticking to the pan, make sure the skillet is hot before adding the fish.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the salmon. It should reach 145°F (63°C) for food safety.
Directions
Make the glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
Cook the salmon:
Pan-seared:
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets) in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- During the last minute of cooking, brush the salmon with the honey glaze.
Oven-baked:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
- Brush the salmon fillets with the honey glaze.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Garnish and serve:
- Once cooked, garnish the salmon with chopped parsley or chives, if desired.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Enjoy your delicious honey-glazed salmon!
