Honey Glazed Salmon

Preheat your oven to 400°F or heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

Ingredients

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish

Tips for success:

  • For a thicker glaze, simmer the glaze in a saucepan over low heat for a few minutes until it reduces slightly.
  • If using frozen salmon, make sure it is fully thawed before cooking.
  • To prevent the salmon from sticking to the pan, make sure the skillet is hot before adding the fish.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the salmon. It should reach 145°F (63°C) for food safety.

Directions

    Make the glaze:

    1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and minced garlic.

    Cook the salmon:

    Pan-seared:

    1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
    2. Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat.
    3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets) in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
    4. During the last minute of cooking, brush the salmon with the honey glaze.

    Oven-baked:

    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
    3. Brush the salmon fillets with the honey glaze.
    4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

    Garnish and serve:

    1. Once cooked, garnish the salmon with chopped parsley or chives, if desired.
    2. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
